FEAR – an unpleasant emotion caused by the threat of danger, pain, or harm
PANIC – sudden uncontrollable fear or anxiety, often causing wildly unthinking behaviour.
At the moment FEAR is everywhere and although it can be a good thing in a flight or fight situation, that’s not what we are facing at the moment. The fear that is going around right now due to the Corona Virus is something different and it could get to the point of panic and hysteria if we let it take over…it can make people act and do things completely out of character.
I really don’t want to impose my thoughts and views onto anyone about the current situation, however one thing is clear – our main priority is to stay healthy and not obsess about what may or may not happen. It’s out with our control.
Any negative obsession can play havoc on our Immune System which is our inbuilt warrior to fight against any dis-ease in our bodies, therefore, we need to ensure it is at its optimal level. STAY CALM 🙏
EAT WELL – eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables where ever you can and of course try and avoid sugar and microwaved food. Have some legumes, seeds and nuts and use spices in your food.
EXERCISE – you may have to be creative here if you are in lockdown as we are in Spain, but even in a small space its possible to get the heart racing and break a little sweat. Put some music on and dance or clean the house with vigour!! Its a great Immune booster
BREATHE – Slow, deep breaths from the abdomen works really well to relax in time of stress and also improves the Immune System
LAUGH AND PLAY – Now that you finally have it, spend some quality time with your loved ones.
HAVE GOOD THOUGHTS- be kind and do not assume other peoples actions – Positive thoughts increases your frequency, bad thoughts make you weak.
